Fishing trip for families to Lapland

Minimum 4 participants

  • Accommodation: Kukkola River Cottages:

Kukkola River Cottages is located in Kukkolankoski, a hamlet located on the banks of the Tornio River, which marks the border between Sweden and Finland. Two languages are spoken here, two currencies are used and you live in two different time zones! The structure is managed with sympathy by Mr. Risto Kantola, and is equipped with about 50 beds. You will stay in an independent mini-apartment sleeping 2 or 6 located in a wonderful position, a few meters from the Finnish bank of the Tornio river. Access to the traditional sauna, located in a building adjacent to the cottage, is free (you will have to heat the wood-burning sauna yourself – we will teach you how to do it upon arrival).

The best time to do this type of itinerary is from mid-June to mid-August

Italian mother tongue assistance on site

1° day

Welcome to Lapland (- / - / -)

Arrival at Kemi-Tornio airport, in Finnish Lapland (flight AY631, 20:40). Transfer by private minibus to your cottage, where you will take possession of your 4-bed mini-apartments. Free dinner. After dinner, taking advantage of the sleepless night, it is possible to explore the surroundings of the structure, already identifying the first places to fish. Overnight.

2° day

Guided fishing (B / - / -)

The first day is dedicated to fishing with a guide, guests can rent boats and equipment for the whole day.

3° day

Free fishing (B / - / -)

Free fishing, this is a traditional activity in Val di Tornio. The river is rich in fish throughout the year. In summer, the most valuable fish are salmon (from June to July) and whitefish (from August to September). Fishing is done by rowing a boat, with two people on each boat. Our guide will show you how to use the boat, will provide you with the equipment in case you don't have one, and will show you the best places for profitable fishing.

4° day

Visits to the surroundings (B / - / -)

Day dedicated to the following activities (min 3 participants), on request other excursions
During this excursion, we will accompany you in a private vehicle (duration of the trip: about 1h30 ') to the Zoological Park of Ranua, the largest in Lapland and the only one that hosts a family of polar bears. The news of the puppy born in captivity in 2011 went around the world. Subsequently, brown bears, wolverine, and elk cubs were also born. The park is designed so that larger animals can roam free in cage-free environments, which facilitates breeding. You can observe the most dangerous animals (such as brown bears) from the top of a suspension bridge, watching them closely while they play, eat or court each other! Polar bears are not very active in the summer, but still sometimes visible. At the end of the easy path, you will be able to observe the feeding of some of the animals. Lunch in a local restaurant and admission to the zoo included in the price. After the visit, return to the cottage (approximately 1h30).

5° day

Goodbye Lapland! (B / - / -)

After breakfast, transfer to Kemi-Tornio airport, where you will board for the return flight (AY 632, 12:30). End of the tour.

Alcolici a parte, secondo disponibilità.

Periodo: 1 giugno – 31 ottobre.

Durata: 3h

Periodo: 1 giugno – 31 ottobre.

Durata: 4h circa
