Arrival at Kemi-Tornio airport in Finnish Lapland. Transfer (45 ') by private vehicle to your accommodation on the bank of the Simo river. You will be served a typical dinner, during which our guide will show you the program. After dinner, taking advantage of the white night, we will explore the surroundings of the structure, already identifying the first places to fish. Overnight.
After breakfast we will go to the bank of the Simo river to start the first day of fishing. In this season the most popular prey are salmon (until mid-August), pike, whitefish, and grayling. The Simo is 193 km long and has over 15 different places to practice fly fishing safely. Spinning can be practiced along over 60 km of coastline. Every year from 1000 to 5000 salmon with an average size of 8 kg rice.
Fishing is done by fly, from the shore or by rowing boat, with one or two people for each boat. Our guide will provide you with the equipment in case you do not have it (for a surcharge) and will show you the best places for profitable fishing. The first three hours will be guided, after which you can continue independently.
Lunch will be free. In the afternoon you can continue fishing independently. Typical dinner and the possibility of fishing independently during the white night.
After breakfast, you will have the day and the rowing boats at your disposal to try your hand at fishing in the river.

In the afternoon, transfer to Kukkolankoski (about 1 hour), where you will take possession of your new lodgings on the bank of the Tornio river. During the transfer we will stop for a typical dinner in the city center in Kemi.
Breakfast is provided in the apartment and must be prepared independently. In the morning, we will go to the bank of the Tornio river to start the day of fishing. The Tornio is the longest free-flowing river in Lapland, with its 522 km and a basin of over 40,000 sq km. Fishing is a traditional activity in Val di Tornio, practiced in the same way for centuries. The river is rich in fish throughout the year.

Our guide will show you how to use the boat, will provide you with the equipment if you do not have one (for a surcharge), and will show you the best places for profitable fishing. The first three hours will be guided, after which you can continue independently.

Alternatively, we will be able to guide you through the traditions of fishermen in the adjacent village of Kukkola: you will observe how they fish with a net (called Lippo in the local dialect), and you will be able to witness the moment in which the catch of the day is distributed among all the inhabitants of the country, according to an ancient ritual of which we will explain the origins. Typical dinner and the possibility of fishing independently during the white night.
After breakfast, you will have the day and the rowing boats at your disposal to try yourself fishing in the waters of the Tornio river.
In the evening you can have a typical dinner (included in the price) in the center of Tornio, the largest city in the area, which you can visit freely before returning to the hotel by private minibus.

Our guide will be at your disposal to show you the best places for fishing in the surrounding area; depending on the place chosen, shorter or longer trips may be required. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.

Days from 1st to 3rd day – Accommodation: Simojoen Lohiranta
Simojoen Lohiranta’s cottages are located along the Simo River, in close contact with nature and with direct access to the shore. The structure has a restaurant with an adjoining shop where you can possibly rent equipment and buy fishing permits. Accommodation will be in a cottage or apartment for 2 or 6 people, depending on the number of participants and availability.
Days 4th to 8th day – Accommodation: Kukkola River Cottages
Kukkola River Cottages is located in Kukkolankoski, a hamlet located on the banks of the Tornio River, which marks the border between Sweden and Finland. Two languages are spoken here, two currencies are used and you live in two different time zones! The structure is managed with sympathy by Mr. Risto and is equipped with about 50 beds. You will stay in an independent mini-apartment sleeping 2 located in a wonderful position, a few meters from the Finnish bank of the Tornio river. For single-use, a supplement applies. Access to the traditional sauna, located in a building adjacent to the cottage, is free (you will have to heat the wood-burning sauna yourself – we will teach you how to do it upon arrival).
