The archipelago of Kiribati, and in particular the atoll of Christmas Island, right where the Captain Cook Hotel is located, is a true paradise for fishing: the proximity to the equator (less than 200 miles) means that during the whole year you can experience a very high quality fishing experience. In particular, you will find a significant amount of Bonefish (average size from 2 to 4 pounds, but it is possible to meet specimens up to 10 pounds), as well as Trevally, Tuna and Wahoo.

CAPTAIN COOK HOTEL
Built on the historic foundations of an English military base, the Captain Cook Hotel has always been owned by the Government of Kiribati and has welcomed numerous travelers who have visited the island since 1975. The hotel is a stone's throw from the island's coral reef. and a 10 minute drive from the international airport. It offers 24 simple, welcoming and comfortable rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms, including solar heated hot water showers, and refrigerators. All rooms are located on the ground floor of the two wings of the hotel that open into the courtyard overlooking the beach with an ocean view. Every Thursday evening the hotel organizes a Hawaiian party for its guests with an abundant buffet where fresh fish is served. The bar serves different types of beer, wines and spirits. Room service and laundry are available.
