Kiritimati Island (Christmas) is a paradise for any fisherman. It is located 1,200km south of Honolulu, in the central Pacific Ocean area just above the Equator. Kiritimati Island constitutes one of the largest coral atolls on the planet. The sea and the sky form the perfect backdrop for the 250 square miles of pure white sand, the crystal clear lagoon water, and the coconut palms. This destination is perfect for fishing because it combines all the main elements for successful fly-fishing. Constant climate all year round, endless sandy plains, and a huge number of Bonefish and Trevally make it the ideal place for professional anglers. A unique opportunity to fish in Micronesia!

Christmas Island Outfitters is a small fishing operator / lodge that hosts no more than 12 fishermen at a time to ensure maximum fishing satisfaction. The lodge is located on the beautiful Crystal Beach halfway between the airport and London. The lodge is truly rustic, simple and certainly not luxurious, but the rooms and the whole environment are impeccably maintained by the staff. Remember that the water in the rooms is neither hot nor cold, but simply at room temperature. The rooms are air conditioned although we strongly recommend that you simply leave the windows open and welcome the Pacific breeze. It is the best way to acclimate your body to the climate of the island. Kiritimati is literally one of the most remote islands on earth. For this reason the lodge will do its best to make your stay comfortable. But don't expect luxury accommodation! Meals are a mix of local and western very simple and suitable for hungry fishermen. Basically they include rice, fresh fish, chicken and pork. Lunch is scarce, in the typical island style, so we recommend always bringing snacks such as energy bars, granola bars, beef jerky, dried fruit and energizing drinks to keep your body hydrated and not lose energy.
Your fishing campaign includes:

Every day we leave with a land vehicle or a boat to reach the different fishing spots: from large sandbanks to paradisiacal atolls. Virtually, thanks to the exceptional clarity of the waters, you can choose the type of fish and the size you want to catch.
Bone Fishing Christmas Island
This destination is perfect for fishing because it combines all the main elements for successful fly-fishing. Constant climate all year round, endless sandy plains and a huge number of Bonefish and Trevally make it the ideal place for professional anglers. But what makes fishing in these places so special and unforgettable is precisely the pure and natural power of the bonefish itself, which is able to put up so much resistance that it forces fishermen to work even harder to catch it. The knowledge of the local guides is what always makes the difference in fishing, as they know every corner and creature of their territory (reefs, tides, fish, etc.). Their eyesight is so sharp that they can see fish regardless of the weather, no matter if it's clear or cloudy.
If you want to be more daring you can always try your luck with the Blue fin, the Golden or the Giant Trevally!
Trevally is the most coveted species for its pugnacity and anglers from all over the world come here to challenge that pugnacity aboard a real Christmas Island boat with its famous fishing guides.
Other fighting and appreciable species are: Sailfish, Wahoo, Barracuda, Sharks, Tuna and Bill fish.
Beyond fishing:
If you bring with you friends or family who do not like fishing as much as you do or if you want to do some activity that does not include fishing you can always meet the inhabitants of the island and learn their culture, but you can also do activities such as bird watching, lagoon sightseeing and snorkeling.
You will thus be able to discover all the charm of true Micronesia, traditions, arts and a centuries-old culture so distant from ours.
