APART DEL MAITEN
Breakfast and start of the first day of fishing. Aluminè River is a large river, perfect for good daily fishing trips. The nature of this river will challenge you to use several techniques. In these slow-moving waters, broad water currents are flowing along the path of the river. We will sail 8 miles along unique types of water. Wild brown and marble trout- it is common to find over-2 kg specimens- will keep us busy all day long.
On this day, we will navigate the final stretch of Chimehuin River through our private access, which allows us to navigate the richest stretch of this river until it joins the Collon Cura River. Chimehuin is famous- among all the other rivers in this area- for having the best mosquitos. Consequently, all the trout of this stretch of river often come to the surface to eat these insects. We will practice dry fly fishing throughout the day. At the same time, we will look for large trout with grasshoppers along the fast-moving currents before the junctions with the Collon Cura River.
The Malleo River is one of the most famous rivers- among the best-known rivers in Northern Patagonia- for dry fly fishing. This medium-length river is rich in wild brown and marble trout, featuring over-2 kg specimens hiding in every corner. We will spend the morning at the final stretch that flows over the beautiful Rocky Canyon, famous for its great trouts. In the afternoon, we will sail to the initial stretch of the Malleo River. By contrast to the arrival day, we will fish in different sections of the river.
In the morning, we will leave Apart del Maiten to start a unique sailing adventure on the Collon Cura River, lasting 3 days and 2 nights camping in the river islands with a deluxe service.
The Collon Cura River is one of the largest rivers in the area, and it is the flowing point for rivers such as Chimehuin, Alumine, Malleo, and Quillen. Being the flowing point of many other rivers makes this river wider. Its final stretch- that we will travel- is probably the most prolific one in this region. We will sail a 25-mile long section in 3 days with currents running through the Collon Cura Ranch, making this stretch inaccessible. During the evening, we will reach our Deluxe Camp on a nearby island. The Camp will provide tents for every 2 people with cots featuring inflatable mattresses and sleeping bags, perfect for sleeping at 0 ° C. The Camp will provide power, bathroom curtains, and hot water showers on request. There will also be a relaxation tent waiting for us with gin and tonic or a glass of wine complimented with delicious Hors D’Ouevres. Then, a lamb cooked on the Gaucho-style grill will be the main dinner course, complimented with many fresh salads and traditional Argentine sausages with our best wines. Icing on the cake: after dinner, we will enjoy a sky full of stars in front of the Campfire.
The stretch of the Collon Cura River of this day will be a real trout paradise. This environment is perfect for growing wild brown and marble trouts. We will combine boat fishing at the river ford in some channels of the more hidden banks of this stretch, which are always good ways to enjoy sight fishing. We will reach our second Camp where the staff tonight will be waiting for us with a traditional “Chicken on the disco”. This country meal is cooked on a large iron pan over an open fire where onions and peppers are cooked with chicken in a delicious white wine sauce.
Transfer to Bariloche- accommodation at Incayal Hotel, and dinner at the hotel restaurant.
The last part of our trip on the Collon Cura river will see the migration of minnows. Some of our rivers, especially those that flow into water basins, are the point of arrival of the migration of 2 different species of minnows, providing, therefore, a lot of food for the trouts living in these waters. When these migrations begin, trout from the reservoirs (brown and wild marble) follow the minnows and hunt them. This process creates an ideal and productive situation for fishing- one can undermine them with steamers.
In the late afternoon, we will leave for Bariloche. We will be accompanied on a private ride to Incayalan Hotel 4 * Resort, where we will spend the night (accommodation in double rooms with your fishing partner, single rooms available with additional costs- please, advise first) and enjoy dinner in front of Nahuel Huapi Show Lake. We will go to dinner at the hotel restaurant- a bottle of wine is included for every 2 people.
Breakfast, optional shopping session in the center of Bariloche- very close on foot from the hotel-, and private ride road to Bariloche Airport to take the return flight.
